Google opens office in Pakistan, offers students free access to Gemini

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has inaugurated Google’s new office in Pakistan, with the technology giant also announcing free access to its advanced artificial intelligence service, Gemini, for Pakistani students.

A Google delegation met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where discussions focused on promoting digital technology and artificial intelligence in Pakistan and exploring opportunities for future cooperation.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz said the opening of Google’s office marked the beginning of a “new journey” for the company in Pakistan.

He said Pakistan offered significant opportunities for Google and that the government was committed to creating a conducive environment for the growth of digital technology in the country.

The meeting also discussed Pakistan’s large youth population and ways to equip young people with modern digital skills.

A Google vice president expressed the company’s interest in establishing a long-term partnership with Pakistan and stressed the need for further efforts to promote digital technology in the country.

Google officials said Pakistan’s young population and rapidly expanding digital market offered significant opportunities for cooperation in the technology sector.

The Google vice president also announced that Pakistani students would soon receive free access to Google Gemini for one year.

Gemini is an artificial intelligence-powered service that can assist students with research, information gathering, writing, academic projects and other educational activities.

The initiative is expected to provide Pakistani youth with greater exposure to advanced AI technology and help strengthen their digital skills.

Google’s expanded presence in Pakistan is also expected to create new opportunities in the digital economy, technology sector, youth training and access to global digital markets.

The meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz and Google officials reflects Pakistan’s efforts to expand cooperation with global technology companies in the fields of digital technology and artificial intelligence.
