DAMBULLA: Ayesha Zafar’s composed batting and Momina Riasat’s two-wicket haul helped Pakistan women secure a consolation four-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the third T20 International at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Tuesday.
The win offered Pakistan some consolation after Sri Lanka secured the three-match series by winning the opening two T20Is.
Chasing 114, Pakistan reached 115-6 in 18.2 overs, with Ayesha Zafar leading the chase with a 31-ball 39 featuring six fours. Opener Shawaal Zulfiqar added 21 off 12 balls, including three fours and a six. Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu and Kavisha Dilhari claimed two wickets apiece.
Earlier, Sri Lanka posted 113-6 in 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Athapaththu top-scored with 34 off 29 balls, hitting five fours, while Momina Riasat was Pakistan’s leading bowler with 2-18 from four overs.
The result came after Sri Lanka won the preceding three-match ODI series 2-1.
