Bodies of Three Fishermen Recovered After Fishing Boat Capsizes Near Karachi’s Sea View

The bodies of three fishermen who went missing after a fishing boat capsized off Karachi’s Sea View have been recovered, according to the Edhi Foundation.

The foundation said two fishermen were rescued safely on Monday evening, while three others went missing after the boat overturned.

The deceased were identified as 55-year-old Abdul Salam, 30-year-old Muna and 35-year-old Saeed, alias Kalu. Their bodies were transported to Jinnah Hospital in Edhi ambulances.

An Edhi marine rescue operation, launched on Monday night, continued until Tuesday when rescuers recovered the body of the third missing fisherman.

Rescue 1122 spokesperson Hassaan Ul Haseeb Khan said the incident occurred after the fishing boat developed a technical fault while at sea. He added that authorities had requested assistance from the Pakistan Navy and Coast Guard in the rescue efforts.

The incident comes amid several recent boat-related accidents along the Karachi coast. In May, 18 people were rescued after a boat capsized near Ibrahim Hyderi.

In January, seven people were rescued while four others remained missing after a merchant vessel collided with a fishing boat near Manora. During the same month, another boat carrying eight Karachi residents capsized in the open sea near Keti Bandar.

Last year, a fisherman died after his boat capsized in the open sea near Port Qasim amid strong winds.
