Two terrorists killed in Balochistan’s Killi Zaik IBO

QUETTA: Security forces killed two terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Killi Zaik, Balochistan, state-run Pakistan Television reported.

According to security sources cited by PTV, the operation was launched after reports of terrorist presence in the area. Ammunition, hand grenades and material used in the manufacture of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered during the operation.

PTV also released footage of the operation, saying security forces were continuing action against what the state refers to as Fitna-al-Hindustan.

The latest operation comes amid intensified security actions across Balochistan. On Sunday, seven terrorists were killed in an IBO in Kharan’s Lajay area, while 10 terrorists were killed and several others injured in an operation in Khuzdar’s Shor Pard area on Saturday.

Earlier, 18 terrorists were killed in separate operations in Surab, including eight in a premature explosion, while five terrorists, including a key commander, were killed in an operation in Panjgur.

The operations come as Balochistan continues to face a deteriorating security situation. According to the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies, deaths in the province rose from 109 in June to 372 in July, marking a 241 per cent increase.
