Content creator duo Amtul Baweja and Fahad Tariq, known for their vlog Patangeer, are set to host the inaugural Pakistan Influencer Awards.
In a reel posted on Instagram, Baweja said the couple had spent eight years creating content and had become part of a growing community of Pakistani digital creators and influencers.
She said they had never imagined that they would one day represent the same community on stage and host the country’s first influencer awards.
Baweja said the initiative had emerged from within the industry and would provide an opportunity to recognise the contributions of Pakistani content creators over the years.
The Pakistan Influencer Awards are scheduled to take place on Nov 7. At an event on July 27, chief curator Talha Asim said the initiative aimed to establish guidelines and foster a supportive environment for content creation to flourish in Pakistan.
More than 30 awards will be presented across categories including Creator of the Year and Emerging Creator for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
Additional awards will recognise creators in fields such as lifestyle, beauty, fashion, travel, fitness, entertainment, gaming, parenting and music.
The winners will be selected through a multi-stage process. An algorithm will identify the top 20 creators in each category, with the results to be validated through a market survey. A jury of established content creators will then shortlist the top 10.
A second jury comprising marketing and advertising professionals will narrow the list to five finalists, after which the winners will be decided through a public online vote expected to take place in October.
