A blast damaged the residence of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Misbahullah in North Waziristan, with no casualties reported.
According to sources, unidentified individuals had planted explosives near the main gate of the JUI-F leader’s residence in Hasukhel, which later detonated.
The explosion damaged the main gate and parts of the building. The blast was heard across the surrounding area, but people inside the residence remained unharmed.
Police and security personnel reached the site shortly after the explosion and cordoned off the area. Investigators also collected evidence from the scene.
Security was subsequently heightened in Hasukhel and nearby areas, while law enforcement agencies launched a search operation to trace those responsible.
Additional personnel were deployed at key locations and surveillance was increased to prevent further incidents.
Officials said the motive behind the explosion and the identities of those responsible would be determined after the investigation. No group has so far claimed responsibility.
