FIA Team Faces Resistance During Raid in Rawalpindi

An FIA team reportedly faced resistance and was allegedly held hostage during a raid in Rawalpindi to arrest a suspect.

According to the registered case, the team conducted a raid at a residence on September 14 to arrest an accused in connection with an investigation.

The suspect and his alleged accomplices reportedly resisted the raid and detained several members of the FIA team. The officials were allegedly assaulted with sticks and rods and punched, resulting in injuries to the personnel.

The complaint also alleged that a female member of the team was subjected to humiliating treatment during the incident.

The suspects allegedly threatened the FIA personnel with firearms and pointed rifles and pistols at them. The complaint further accused them of attempting to kill the members of the investigation team.

Following the incident, a case was registered against the alleged suspects under relevant sections of the law after the injured officials underwent medical examinations.

Authorities said legal proceedings would continue against those accused of obstructing the FIA operation and assaulting its personnel.
