Five arrested in Faisalabad over alleged sale of newborn, mother among suspects

According to the FIR registered on the complaint of ASI Zahid Bashir under Section 328 of the Pakistan Penal Code and the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act 2018, police were informed about the disappearance of a 15-day-old girl from Chak 50-GB.

During the investigation, police allegedly found that the infant’s mother, Sadia Bibi, had sold the newborn to Perveen Masih and her husband, Irfan Masih, residents of Chak 51-GB, for Rs15,000, 15 days after her birth.

The FIR alleged that the couple later sold the baby to Roopa Masih, wife of Sikandar Masih and a resident of Lahore, for Rs50,000.

Police arrested five suspects in connection with the alleged sale of the newborn, including the baby’s mother.
