Govt Announces Public Holiday on Aug 26 for Eid Miladun Nabi

The federal government has declared August 26, 2026, as a public holiday to mark Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH), according to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division.

The holiday will be observed on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 AH, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which is commemorated by Muslims around the world.

The notification said the decision was issued in continuation of the government’s earlier circular of January 19, which listed public and optional holidays for 2026.

Last week, Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad announced that the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon had not been sighted on August 13, confirming that Eid Miladun Nabi would be observed on August 26.
