Pakistan, Seven Muslim States Condemn Israeli Settlement Policies

Foreign ministers from Pakistan and seven other Muslim countries have condemned Israel’s settlement policies in the occupied Palestinian territories, rejecting the proposed E1 settlement plan near occupied East Jerusalem.

The joint statement by Pakistan, Egypt, Turkiye, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates also denounced violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians and their property.

The ministers said the E1 plan would accelerate settlement expansion and annexation, threaten the territorial continuity of the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and undermine the prospects of establishing an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders.

They called for immediate action to halt the plan and urged the UN Security Council and the international community to take measures against illegal settlement activities.

The ministers reaffirmed their support for a two-state solution as the only viable path to a lasting and comprehensive peace in the region.
