The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the Fatah-IV cruise missile is equipped with advanced avionics and modern navigation systems, enabling it to engage targets at extended ranges with a high degree of precision and effectiveness.
“The test also validated additional technical parameters of various sub-systems incorporated for improved accuracy and enhanced survivability,” the military’s media wing said in a statement.
According to the ISPR, the missile launch was witnessed by senior Pakistan Army officers, along with scientists and engineers from the organisation involved in its development.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and the chiefs of the armed services congratulated the nation on the successful test.
The military leadership also praised the technical expertise, dedication and efforts of the scientists, engineers and other personnel involved in the development of the weapon system.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also congratulated the nation on the successful test, describing it as a significant development in Pakistan’s defence capabilities.
“The successful test of the extended version of the Fatah-IV cruise missile is an important advancement in the defence sector,” Naqvi said, while praising the scientists and engineers involved in the project.
The latest test follows a series of missile tests conducted by Pakistan in recent months.
In May, the Army Rocket Force Command successfully conducted a test firing of the Fatah-IV ground-launched cruise missile.
A month earlier, the command carried out a successful training launch of the Fateh-II missile system. During the same month, the Pakistan Navy successfully tested a locally developed anti-ship ballistic missile against targets at an extended range.
In September 2025, the Pakistan Army also conducted a successful training launch of the Fatah-IV cruise missile, reportedly at a range of 750 kilometres.
