Pakistan’s services exports rise 29pc

Pakistan’s services exports continued their upward trend during the first two months of FY27, recording growth in both July and August, according to official data compiled by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

Services exports reached $1.81 billion in July-August FY27, compared with $1.41bn during the same period last year.

In August alone, services exports increased 28.97 per cent to $873.01 million from $676.91m a year earlier. Telecommunications, computer and information services remained the main drivers of growth during the period.

State Bank of Pakistan data showed that exports of telecommunications, computer and information services rose 17.36pc to $811m in the first two months of FY27, compared with $691m in the corresponding period last year.

Exports of other business services also recorded significant growth, increasing 38.62pc to $420m from $303m a year earlier. Transport services exports rose 35.87pc to $178m, compared with $131m in the same period last year.

Travel services posted the strongest growth, with exports surging 146.66pc to $222m during the two-month period, up from $90m in 2MFY26.

Meanwhile, services imports also increased during the period. Imports rose 9.77pc to $2.37bn in July-August FY27, compared with $2.16bn in the corresponding period of the previous year.

In August, services imports grew 2.53pc to $1.15bn from $1.13bn a year earlier.
