Security forces have killed eight terrorists, including three key commanders, during an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan, according to security sources.
The operation was carried out after intelligence indicated the presence of terrorists in the area under the Azm-e-Istehkam framework, the sources said.
Three senior commanders of Fitna al-Khawarij were among those killed during the operation.
Security forces also recovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition, along with foreign currency, from the militants, according to the sources.
The operation is part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa aimed at eliminating militant networks and maintaining security in the region.
