Shaheen Shah Afridi produced a match-winning seven-wicket haul as Pakistan Gold defeated Pakistan Greens to clinch the Champions Cup title.
Chasing a target of 341, Greens made a strong start and reached 143-1 in 20.4 overs before suffering a dramatic collapse. They lost their final nine wickets for just 96 runs and were bowled out for 239 in 37.3 overs.
Shaheen returned career-best List A figures of 7-36 from 8.3 overs, including a hat-trick. The feat was the 19th List A hat-trick recorded on Pakistani soil and Shaheen’s fourth five-wicket haul in the format.
Greens initially looked comfortable after Fakhar Zaman scored 31 off 28 balls. Saad Baig and Omair Bin Yousuf then added 90 runs for the second wicket before Razaullah dismissed Omair for 44.
Saad Baig struck 67 off 51 balls, but his dismissal triggered a collapse. Shaheen removed Farhan Yousuf before dismissing Shadab Khan and Mohammad Suleman with successive deliveries.
Faheem Ashraf and Naseem Shah briefly revived Greens with a 61-run partnership, but Shaheen broke the stand and later completed his hat-trick by dismissing Mehran Mumtaz, Salman Mirza and Mohammad Hasnain off the first three balls of an over.
Faheem remained unbeaten on 38, while Naseem scored 31.
Earlier, Pakistan Gold posted a formidable 340-9 after opting to bat first, with centuries from Shamyl Hussain and Saad Khan.
Shamyl scored 111 off 93 balls, while Saad made 112 off 102 as the pair shared a 137-run partnership for the second wicket.
Shamyl also added 78 runs with Mohammad Akhlaq, who contributed 31. Abdul Samad and Mubasir Khan made 25 and 21 respectively to help Pakistan Gold cross the 300-run mark.
For Greens, Faheem Ashraf, Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah claimed two wickets each, while Mehran Mumtaz and Mohammad Hasnain took one apiece.
