Turkiye invites Dar to Istanbul meeting with Saudi, Egyptian foreign ministers

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has accepted an invitation from Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to attend a meeting with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Egypt in Istanbul later this month.

According to the Foreign Office, Dar and Fidan spoke by telephone and discussed recent regional developments as well as efforts to promote peace and stability.

The Foreign Office said the meeting of the four countries — Pakistan, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia and Egypt — would be held in Istanbul, although an exact date has not yet been announced.

Dar confirmed his participation in the meeting, the statement added.

The four foreign ministers have previously held meetings in Riyadh and Islamabad to discuss regional developments. Their latest meeting took place in June, when they welcomed the signing of an Islamabad memorandum between the United States and Iran.
