Veldhof named Pakistan head coach after reshuffle: Wani

Kruis was initially appointed on July 3 as National Hockey Coaching Adviser and head coach of the Pakistan team for an initial two-year term. Veldhof was appointed goalkeeping coach a few days later.

David Dwyer was named high-performance coach, while Chris Bowen was assigned the dual roles of technical coach and sports psychologist. Adnan Zakir was the only Pakistani among the new coaching staff, taking charge of junior talent identification.

However, Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) president Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani told Dawn on Friday that Kruis would serve only as national hockey coaching adviser, while Veldhof had been promoted from goalkeeping coach to head coach for the FIH World Cup, scheduled to be jointly hosted by the Netherlands and Belgium from Aug 15 to 30.

Regarding former Pakistan captain and Olympian Tahir Zaman, who was appointed Director High Performance on May 21, Wani said Zaman had now taken on the role of his adviser.
