Hamas accuses Netanyahu of undermining Gaza ceasefire talks after Israeli strike

Hamas has accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of attempting to undermine ceasefire negotiations following an Israeli strike on a cafe in Gaza City that killed six Palestinians, including a child, and injured 14 others.

The group described the attack as a deliberate escalation and said its timing, amid recent talks in Cairo and ongoing mediation efforts, indicated an attempt to derail negotiations and hinder implementation of the ceasefire agreement.

Hamas also urged the US administration and mediators to pressure Israel to uphold the agreement and prevent further violations.

The group said it remained committed to implementing the deal, citing recent meetings with US envoy Jared Kushner and other mediators.

The Israeli drone strike targeted a crowded cafe at a fishermen’s port west of Gaza City on Tuesday, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, medical officials and witnesses.

Netanyahu has maintained that Hamas must be fully disarmed before Israel withdraws its forces from Gaza. Hamas, however, has said it would consider surrendering its weapons only alongside a gradual and orderly Israeli withdrawal.

Mediators are continuing efforts to advance the implementation of a ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 10, 2025.
