Police have registered a case against 30 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists for allegedly holding a rally in violation of restrictions and blocking roads in Kamalia.
According to the first information report (FIR), Sub-Inspector Muhammad Nasir, the complainant in the case, alleged that the suspects violated the ban on rallies and obstructed traffic on Toba-Chichawatni Road and other locations.
The case was registered under Sections 290, 291 and 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), along with Section 16 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance.
Those named in the FIR include Advocate Asif Kathia and his wife, Begum Sajida Asif Kathia.
Police sources said raids were conducted at the residences of several PTI activists nominated in the case. One suspect, Mukhtar Ahmad, was arrested.
