Israeli Airstrikes Kill Four Palestinians in Gaza Strip

At least four Palestinians have been killed in fresh Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip, while several others sustained injuries, according to local health authorities.

Nasser Hospital reported that three people were brought dead following an Israeli airstrike targeting a tent sheltering displaced Palestinians west of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza.

Meanwhile, Hamas’s Interior Ministry confirmed that Mohammed Shalouf, a member of its internal security service, was killed in a separate airstrike in Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Yunis.

The Israeli military confirmed carrying out strikes in the area, saying it had targeted individuals it described as military operatives, without providing further details.

In another incident, a 17-year-old Palestinian girl, identified as Rimas al-Madhoun, was killed when an Israeli drone struck a tent in a park in Gaza City. The city’s Al-Shifa Hospital confirmed that she was brought dead to the facility.

Israel agreed to a United States-brokered ceasefire in October 2025. However, Israeli military operations and advances into Gaza have continued since the agreement.

In a separate development, a group of former senior Israeli military officials joined Palestinian farmers in harvesting olives in the occupied West Bank, expressing solidarity amid increasing violence by Israeli settlers.

The group, comprising around 30 former military officials, including six generals, was organised by former Major General Eyal Ben-Reuven in response to growing reports of settler attacks against Palestinian communities.

Ben-Reuven criticised the violence, comparing attacks on Palestinian women and children to historical persecution suffered by Jewish communities.

Former Israeli Colonel Doron Meinert also described the occupation as a major problem for Israeli society, calling for efforts to resolve the issue through cooperation with Palestinians.

Former Brigadier General Jonatan Yoni said settler violence was damaging Israel’s international reputation, particularly in Western countries and the United States. He also expressed opposition to plans for the annexation of the occupied West Bank.

Palestinian landowner Nimr Nazzal said the presence of former Israeli military officials had enabled farmers to access their olive groves, which had become difficult to reach because of repeated settler attacks.

He alleged that Israeli forces frequently protect settlers involved in the violence, a claim denied by the Israeli military.

According to Israeli human rights organisation Yesh Din, 180 physical attacks against Palestinian olive harvesters were recorded during the first 35 days of the harvesting season.

The organisation also reported that Israeli military personnel were present in more than 23 per cent of the recorded incidents of settler violence.

Palestinians have repeatedly accused Israeli forces of responding slowly to complaints about settler attacks or siding with the perpetrators. The Israeli military has rejected these allegations and maintains that its operations are aimed at maintaining security in the occupied West Bank.
