Charles Spencer, the younger brother of the late Princess Diana, has announced that he will publish a book detailing his memories of his sister and the events surrounding her death.
Titled Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, the book will be released in Britain and other countries on September 22 and translated into 12 languages, publisher Penguin Random House said in a statement.
According to the publisher, the book will recount Spencer’s life with Diana and the events of the tragic week following her death. It will also mark the first time he has spoken extensively and openly about his sister.
Spencer said he decided to write the book as the 30th anniversary of Diana’s death approaches, citing repeated requests for interviews about her.
He said he wanted to document his own memories and perspectives, arguing that many opinions about Diana had been shaped by claims he believes are untrue.
Spencer added that the book was intended to present Diana’s story from his perspective and in a positive manner.
