Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was invited to Muscat as a state guest to receive the UN-Habitat Scroll of Honour Award.
She attended the World Habitat Day ceremony at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, where she was welcomed by UN-Habitat Executive Director Anacláudia Rossbach along with other participants.
Maryam Nawaz dedicated the award to the people who have constructed homes under the Punjab government’s ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ housing programme.
The UN-Habitat Scroll of Honour Award was presented this year to recipients from five countries. Other awardees included Myanmar’s Htoo Weng, Brazil’s Thiago Baurmann Gubert, Tunisia’s Abdelmalek Ghanem and London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
