A bus carrying wedding guests overturned in Kohlu district on Thursday, killing a woman and a child and injuring 42 others, police said.
The bus was travelling from Rakhni to Kohlu when the accident occurred in the Lasazai area. According to police, the vehicle overturned due to overloading, leaving more than 40 women, children and other passengers injured.
Police and rescue teams reached the site shortly after the incident and shifted the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital in Kohlu.
A woman and a child later died of their injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.
Police said 25 seriously injured passengers were subsequently transferred to a hospital in Dera Ghazi Khan for further treatment.
