The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said CDF Munir was briefed on various aspects of Pakistan Ordnance Factory’s operations and its contribution to national defence through the local development and production of a wide range of military equipment.

During the visit, he observed tests and trials of arms and ammunition designed and manufactured locally, reflecting POF’s efforts to promote innovation, self-reliance and domestic defence production, according to the statement.

He was also given a briefing on the progress of POF’s corporatisation following the enactment of the DIPRA Ordinance.

The military’s media wing said Munir was further briefed on ongoing efforts to expand local manufacturing and modernise the facility. Two new industrial plants are being installed and are expected to begin production by the end of this year.

The visit highlighted the military leadership’s focus on strengthening self-reliance, expanding indigenous production and promoting technological advancement in the country’s defence sector, ISPR said.
