Funeral prayers for police constable Farooq Shah, a resident of Maryamzai, were offered at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines, officials said.
Capital City Police Officer Dr Mian Saeed Ahmed, Chief Traffic Officer Dr Zahidullah, SSP Operations Farhan Khan, and senior military, Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and police officials attended the funeral.
Meanwhile, police on Friday claimed to have killed three murder suspects, including two Afghan nationals, during an exchange of fire in Peshawar.
According to a statement issued by the city police, the three suspects, who were members of what police identified as the Nuray Gang, were allegedly involved in the killing of six people in the Jamil Chowk area on April 26, 2025.
Police said the suspects were present at Akhun Baba graveyard when a police team conducted a raid. The suspects allegedly opened fire on the personnel, prompting an exchange of fire in which all three were killed.
Police claimed to have recovered two pistols and a Kalashnikov from the suspects.
