According to an official statement issued by the company on Saturday, the launch is expected to create new opportunities in information technology, e-commerce, online education, telemedicine, tourism and digital entrepreneurship, particularly for the region’s young population.
The development also addresses a long-standing demand that gained momentum during the nationwide rollout of 5G earlier this year, when concerns were raised over the inclusion of Gilgit-Baltistan in the new-generation mobile technology.
