The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), with the assistance of Punjab Police personnel from Dhoke Lalyal Police Chowki and Airport Police Station, conducted an operation against alleged illegal commercial activities at Mid City Apartments on Service Road in Mouza Gangal.
During the operation, the RDA enforcement team sealed several premises being used for unauthorised commercial purposes, including offices, restaurants and illegal penthouses.
An RDA official said the action was carried out under the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976, the RDA Building and Zoning Regulations and other applicable planning laws.
He said the authority would not allow unauthorised commercial activities, illegal construction or violations of approved development plans within its controlled areas.
The official said strict action was being taken against violators to ensure compliance with approved building plans, zoning regulations and other relevant laws.
He added that operations against illegal construction, unauthorised development and unlawful commercial activities would continue. Field teams had been instructed to maintain close monitoring and take action against violations without discrimination.
The official said the RDA remained committed to promoting planned urban development and enforcing building and zoning regulations. He reiterated that illegal construction and unauthorised development would not be tolerated.
The RDA also advised citizens to verify the legal and approval status of housing schemes and construction projects before making investments.
The authority urged the public to report illegal construction and unauthorised development so that action could be taken in accordance with the law.
