A new association has been established to provide an organised platform for the Chinese business community in Pakistan and promote stronger economic ties between the two countries.
The association aims to facilitate coordination between Chinese businesspeople, investors, entrepreneurs and professionals and relevant government departments, institutions and business organisations.
Speakers at the inaugural ceremony highlighted the longstanding Pakistan-China relationship and called for greater focus on economic cooperation, investment, industrial partnerships and people-to-people contacts.
The association plans to connect Pakistani industrialists, manufacturers, traders and entrepreneurs with their Chinese counterparts to promote bilateral investment, trade, technology transfer and industrial cooperation.
It will also work in areas including education, healthcare, vocational and technical skills development, professional training, employment opportunities and community welfare, with the aim of supporting sustainable social and economic development.
The organisation plans to collaborate with government institutions, diplomatic missions, chambers of commerce, trade bodies, industrial organisations and business communities in both countries to strengthen bilateral economic relations.
Commemorative awards and shields were also presented during the ceremony to recognise contributions to Pakistan-China friendship and cooperation.
