Two People Hurt in Islamabad Crash Involving MNA’s Son, Who Allegedly Ran Red Light

Two men sustained serious injuries after a car allegedly driven at high speed by the son of a Member of the National Assembly (MNA) ran a red light and struck their motorcycle in Islamabad.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the suspect was driving a white Toyota Corolla Altis bearing official green registration plates, number GAW-308. He allegedly violated the traffic signal and collided with the motorcycle while crossing Margalla Road.

The incident was reported to Kohsar Police Station, where a case was registered under Sections 337-G, 279 and 427 of the Pakistan Penal Code following a complaint filed by one of the injured men.

The FIR stated that Roman Shahid and his office colleague were travelling on a motorcycle from the Daman-i-Koh side towards Margalla Road after their traffic signal turned green.

At the same time, the Corolla Altis allegedly approached from the E-7 side of Margalla Road at high speed and crossed the red signal, hitting the motorcycle as the two men made their way across the road.

Both riders fell onto the road and suffered serious injuries, while their motorcycle was badly damaged. Several people gathered at the scene, and the injured men were subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment.

In his complaint, the injured man alleged that the driver had been driving recklessly, speeding and disregarding the traffic signal. He called for strict legal action against the suspect.

However, the police public relations branch said the suspect had been released on bail by the duty judicial magistrate after the complainant and the suspect reached a compromise.
