OpenAI Expands ChatGPT Advertising to 26 More Countries, Including Pakistan

OpenAI said in August that its advertising business had reached an annualised revenue run rate of $1 billion.

The company began testing advertisements on ChatGPT in the United States earlier this year. Since then, more than 100,000 advertisers have launched campaigns on the platform, according to OpenAI.

The latest expansion includes 14 additional Latin American countries, such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Peru, following the rollout of advertising in Mexico and Brazil.

Advertising services are also being introduced across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. The newly added markets include Nigeria, South Africa, Serbia, Ukraine, Cambodia, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Advertisers can access ChatGPT’s advertising services in these markets through technology partners or use the self-service Ads Manager available on the company’s platform.

OpenAI said advertisements will appear only on ChatGPT’s Free and Go subscription plans. Paid Plus and Pro subscribers, as well as Enterprise customers, will continue to use the service without ads.

In September, the company introduced artificial intelligence-powered tools for advertisers and began testing business-sponsored agents with a select group of advertisers in the United States.
