Apple to Offer Limited iPhone Duo Stock at Retail Stores on Friday

Apple is set to offer a limited number of its newly launched foldable iPhone Duo devices at retail stores on Friday, as the company works to meet demand for its first foldable smartphone.

The company unveiled the device in September, with analysts predicting that it could quickly gain a leading position in the niche foldable-phone market. Competitors, including Samsung Electronics and Huawei Technologies, have been selling premium foldable devices for several years.

However, the iPhone Duo features a more complex design than conventional iPhones, including a precisely engineered hinge. Analysts believe manufacturing the device in large quantities could pose challenges as Apple works to scale up production.

In a statement, Apple said its retail teams were looking forward to welcoming customers on Friday morning and giving them the opportunity to experience the iPhone Duo alongside the company’s wider iPhone range.

The company added that Apple Stores would have limited stock available for customers making purchases without prior online orders, while efforts continued to deliver the new device to buyers as quickly as possible.

Apple said availability for walk-in customers would differ across markets.

In the United States, Australia, Canada, Mexico and much of the United Kingdom and Europe, customers will be able to collect online orders or purchase the device in person, subject to limited stock.

However, in several other markets, including mainland China, France, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates, the device will be available only to customers who have already placed online orders.

Macau will follow a different arrangement, with a limited number of iPhone Duo units available for direct purchases at retail stores, Apple said.

The limited in-store supply highlights the potential production challenges associated with the company’s entry into the foldable smartphone segment, where demand for premium devices and manufacturing complexity remain key considerations.
