Islamabad High Court Justice Raja Inaam Ameen Minhas issued the order while hearing a petition filed by Khalid Mahmood and others, challenging the proposed repatriation of employees who have reportedly been working in their respective departments for more than 15 years.
The court directed the petitioners to continue carrying out their responsibilities in their existing positions until further orders.
According to the written judgement, the petitioners were represented by lawyers Raja Aleem Khan Abbasi, Zain Shah and Muneeb Tariq.
Their counsel maintained that the proposed repatriation notification was discriminatory, lacked justification and amounted to an abuse of authority. They argued that the employees had served in the concerned departments for over 15 years, giving them a legal claim to permanent status.
