November 10 Set for Hearing of Appeals in £190 Million Al-Qadir Trust Case

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has scheduled November 10 for the hearing of appeals filed in the £190 million Al-Qadir Trust case involving former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif will hear the appeals.

The court has granted Barrister Salman Safdar a final opportunity to begin presenting his arguments in the case.

Earlier, the defence counsel had expressed concerns over being unable to proceed with the appeals due to limited access to his incarcerated clients. However, the objection is no longer considered relevant following his meeting with the couple.

In July, the court had granted another adjournment to the defence counsel while making it clear that no further delays would be entertained. It had also warned that the appeals would be decided on the basis of the available judicial record if arguments were not presented.

The case relates to the Al-Qadir Trust settlement, in which the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) accused Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi of receiving billions of rupees and valuable land through an alleged settlement involving property tycoon Malik Riaz.
