LPG prices have been increased

The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been increased across the country, with the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) issuing a notification.

According to the notification, the price of LPG has been increased by Rs4.33 per kilogram with effect from September 1.

The price of an 11.8kg domestic LPG cylinder has risen by Rs51.17 to Rs3,052.09.

According to available pricing data, the producer price of LPG has been set at Rs217,351.52 per metric tonne, which translates to Rs2,564.75 for an 11.8kg cylinder.

A margin of Rs35,000 per metric tonne has been included for LPG marketing, distribution and transportation, amounting to Rs413 per 11.8kg cylinder.

Of this amount, the marketing margin is Rs17,000 per metric tonne, the distribution margin is Rs10,000, and transportation charges are Rs8,000 per metric tonne.

An additional 18 per cent general sales tax (GST) of Rs6,300 per metric tonne has also been included, equivalent to Rs74.34 for an 11.8kg cylinder.

After incorporating the producer price, marketing, distribution and transportation margins, along with the applicable GST, the total consumer price of an 11.8kg LPG cylinder comes to Rs3,052.09. The corresponding price per metric tonne stands at Rs258,651.52.
