Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Justice, Dr. Walid Al-Samaani, has approved the implementing regulations of the Enforcement Law, which will come into force on October 29, 2026, alongside the implementation of the new law.
The regulations, issued under Royal Decree No. M/237, were published on Friday in the Kingdom’s official gazette, Umm Al-Qura.
Comprising 54 articles, the regulations establish procedures, deadlines and requirements for enforcing judicial rulings and legal obligations. They aim to improve the efficiency of legal enforcement while protecting the rights of both creditors and debtors.
The regulations also set out procedures for implementing court decisions concerning alimony, child custody and visitation rights.
In addition, they specify requirements for registering bills of exchange and promissory notes through approved electronic platforms. They also identify the orders and decisions that can be challenged through formal objections.
The Ministry of Justice said the regulations are intended to operationalise the provisions of the Enforcement Law while maintaining a balance between the rights and obligations of all parties involved.
