Security forces killed 11 terrorists during separate intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Panjgur and Chagai districts as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts.
Five terrorists were killed during an operation in the Gowargo area of Panjgur. Security forces also recovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition from the militants.
In Chagai district, six terrorists were killed during separate operations in the Aminabad and Siah Chang areas. A significant quantity of arms and explosive material was also seized during the operations.
The latest operations come amid an increase in terrorist activity across Balochistan, prompting security forces to intensify intelligence-based operations against militant groups.
Terrorist attacks in the province increased from 83 in July to 89 in August, reflecting a rise in militant activity during the period.
In recent weeks, security forces have carried out a series of operations across Balochistan, targeting militant hideouts and disrupting planned attacks.
During one operation, 10 terrorists were killed after an attack on a Customs House in the Pishin district. Several security personnel were also killed during the exchange of fire.
In another operation in Chagai’s Nokcha area, 11 terrorists were killed after militants allegedly established an illegal checkpoint on the Quetta-Taftan highway for extortion.
Security forces also killed 12 terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Kalat district. Separate operations in Kharan and Washuk resulted in the deaths of 11 more terrorists, while around 2.9 tonnes of explosives were recovered.
Earlier, 36 terrorists were killed during multiple high-intensity operations in Mastung, Quetta, Kalat and Sibi districts. Security forces also foiled an attempted attack on a police station in Sibi.
Seven terrorists were subsequently killed during an intelligence-based operation in the Badrang area of Awaran district.
Another seven terrorists were killed during separate operations in Panjgur and Kachhi districts.
The continued operations reflect intensified efforts by security forces to counter militant activity, prevent attacks and strengthen security across Balochistan.
