CTD Official Martyred in Targeted Peshawar Attack

A Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) official was martyred in a gun attack in Peshawar, police said.

According to police, the incident took place in Pasni within the jurisdiction of Budhani police station, where unidentified armed men riding motorcycles opened fire on the official, Humayun.

The attackers fled the scene after the shooting. Police subsequently cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the suspects.

In a separate incident on Sunday night, six policemen, including a sub-inspector, were injured when suspected terrorists attacked the D-Chowk police post with a hand grenade, according to a police official.

The injured officers were identified as Sub-Inspector Zubair Khan, Khair Jan, Israel, Aitebar Shah, Syed Alam and Irshad. They were shifted to a nearby healthcare facility for medical treatment.

Following the attack, police increased security around the area and conducted surveillance and search operations. However, no arrests were reported.
