Heavy rainfall, accompanied by hailstorms in some areas, triggered flash floods in mountainous streams and caused rainwater to accumulate in low-lying areas of Mohmand district.
Floodwater entered homes in the Aqreb Dag area of Yakaghund tehsil, creating difficulties for local residents. Several link roads were damaged or blocked by the floodwater, disrupting traffic and restricting the movement of commuters.
Residents of Khwaja Was Kor Bezogan have faced additional difficulties due to the absence of a bridge on a local road. The strong flow of floodwater severed their road connection with surrounding areas, making it difficult for children, elderly people and patients to cross the flooded route.
Rescue 1122 teams reached the affected areas after receiving reports of the flooding and began relief and rescue operations. District Emergency Officer Engineer Khaliq Dad was supervising the response efforts.
The flooding also raised water levels in the Chanda Barani and Ghalanai dams. However, no loss of life has been reported in the district so far.
