A case has been registered against four police officials and two other individuals over allegations of robbery, intimidation and property damage at a private residence in Islamabad’s Sector F-12.
The FIR was registered at Sumbal Police Station following a complaint filed by Owais Butt. The case includes charges under sections 506(ii), 427, 190, 166 and 167 of the Pakistan Penal Code, relating to criminal intimidation, property damage, threats, and alleged misconduct by public servants.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on August 19 at Owais Butt’s dera in Sector F-12. Butt said a guest informed him by telephone that his servants had been involved in a dispute with neighbours.
Following the call, his cousin, Khawar Butt, arrived at the premises and allegedly found police personnel accompanied by two other individuals searching the property and damaging doors.
The complainant alleged that when Khawar objected to the officials’ actions, the station house officer (SHO) pointed a gun at him and took away his mobile phone.
The suspects allegedly took Rs475,000 in cash and valuables worth approximately Rs1 million from the premises. Khawar was subsequently taken to the police station and released the following morning, according to the FIR.
Owais Butt further alleged that police had registered a fabricated case against him over a physical altercation. He said he approached a court the next day and secured pre-arrest bail.
According to Butt, the court later quashed the case after the original complainant expressed ignorance about the matter.
He subsequently filed a petition seeking judicial directions for the registration of a case against the police officials and the other individuals. When the police allegedly failed to act despite the court’s order, he approached the Islamabad High Court.
The FIR was eventually registered following directions from the high court.
The allegations against the named individuals remain subject to investigation and judicial proceedings.
