Government Reintroduces Austerity Measures Amid Escalating Fuel Crisis

According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Secretariat, markets will close at 9pm, with pharmacies exempted from the revised timings.

The government has also ordered a 50 per cent reduction in fuel allocations for official vehicles, while imposing a complete ban on the purchase of new vehicles.

The notification further restricts foreign visits and official travel, allowing them only when deemed essential.
