Major international currencies remained among the most closely monitored rates in Pakistan, with the US dollar, euro, British pound, UAE dirham and Saudi riyal maintaining their positions against the Pakistani rupee.
The US dollar was quoted at Rs278.00 for buying and Rs278.65 for selling. The euro stood at Rs323.27 on the buying side and Rs327.71 on the selling side.
The British pound continued to trade at a significantly higher level, with a buying rate of Rs376.97 and a selling rate of Rs380.25.
In the Gulf currencies, the UAE dirham was available at Rs75.60 for buying and Rs76.50 for selling, while the Saudi riyal was being bought at Rs73.90 and sold at Rs74.60.
The dirham and riyal remain particularly important for Pakistan due to the large Pakistani workforce in the UAE and Saudi Arabia and the significant remittances sent from both countries.
