Officials said on Monday that protective nets had been installed at police stations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as part of measures to protect security personnel and infrastructure from drone and quadcopter attacks.
The officials said the security arrangements had helped thwart two drone attacks targeting Matani police station.
In recent months, militants have increasingly attempted to target police stations and security checkposts in Peshawar and other districts using drones and quadcopters.
Officials said a drone attack on a house in Hassankhel resulted in the death of a woman and left several other people injured.
A police checkpost at Tarnab Farm, located within the jurisdiction of Chamkani and Matani police stations, was also targeted by a quadcopter in recent days, injuring several people.
Police officials said the newly installed nets were intended to prevent drones and quadcopters from reaching police facilities and to minimise the risk of casualties and damage to buildings.
The measures are part of enhanced security arrangements being implemented at police installations amid growing threats involving unmanned aerial devices.
