Punjab Chief Minister seeks report on fire safety measures in government hospitals

Maryam Nawaz has directed authorities to submit a detailed report on fire safety measures at hospitals in all districts by August 27. She also ordered an assessment of emergency exits and access routes at the hospitals.

The chief minister directed officials to inspect emergency exits in consultation with Rescue teams and complete the installation of fire hydrants at hospitals within seven days. She also ordered the installation of fire hydrants around all major government hospitals in Punjab.

According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Housing Department, a list of 57 government hospitals has been prepared in the first phase.

The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has been tasked with identifying key locations and installing fire hydrants.
