US officials and Houthi representatives held a secret meeting in Oman last week

According to Reuters, five sources familiar with the meeting confirmed that it took place at the US Embassy in Muscat, while the Omani government helped facilitate the meeting.

According to one source, the meeting was held on Sunday. Houthi representatives assured US officials that they had no intention of attacking American naval vessels and that they remained committed to the ceasefire reached with the United States in 2025.

According to a Yemeni source, the Houthis also assured the US side that they would not attack Israeli or commercial vessels. However, Saudi-owned vessels were excluded from this assurance.

According to the sources, the Houthi delegation included senior leader Mohammed Abdulsalam, who is based in Muscat, and another prominent leader, Abdulmalik Al-Ajri.
