Fospah launches mobile app to expedite complaint resolution

The Federal Ombudsman for Protection Against Harassment (Fospah) launched a mobile application and new website on Thursday to make the complaint process more accessible and expedite case handling.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Fospah officials, representatives of the National Information Technology Board (NITB) and other stakeholders.

Speaking at the event, Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar welcomed Fospah’s digital initiatives, saying modern technology could help make access to justice easier, more transparent and effective.

He said the new Complaint Management System would improve monitoring of complaints and cases at different stages and strengthen case management, institutional performance and accountability.

The minister said the mobile application and website would give citizens easier access to Fospah’s services and information while simplifying the process of seeking redressal.

Senator Tarar stressed the importance of women’s participation in the country’s economic, social and professional development, saying no society could progress by confining half of its population to their homes.

He said Islam had granted women extensive rights and that the government was taking measures to protect and promote women’s rights and ensure a safe working environment.

The minister said Pakistani women had proved their capabilities and excelled across various fields, adding that providing them with a safe, dignified and conducive workplace was the state’s responsibility.

Federal Ombudsman for Protection Against Harassment Fauzia Viqar said the digital system had been introduced to make complaint resolution easier, more accessible, transparent and efficient.

She said the Complaint Management System would allow Fospah to handle cases in an organised manner, covering the entire process from complaint registration and case proceedings to orders and final decisions.

The system would also improve record management, facilitate monitoring of case progress and enable complainants to obtain timely updates about their cases, she added.

Under the new system, complainants would be able to submit miscellaneous applications, review petitions and execution applications, among other requests. They would also have electronic access to orders and other case-related documents.

Ms Viqar said the new website would provide public access to information about Fospah’s services, relevant laws and procedures, decisions and orders, statistics and institutional activities.
