Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the mayor said improvements to the road network had reduced travel time between Karachi and Malir to around 15 to 20 minutes.
He said traffic, sewerage and road-base works had been completed before the construction and rehabilitation of the roads.
The mayor said work had already begun on several roads along Makran Road, while the tendering process for other projects was in progress.
He added that construction was also underway on a dual-carriageway project linking the airport with Malir Cantt, which would connect Kathore and the rear side of the airport with the motorway.
