The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has cancelled a planned rally in Dera Ismail Khan following an alleged attack on party workers preparing for the event.
According to a police complaint, PTI workers were putting up banners and arranging chairs at a district auditorium when a group of nine to 10 unidentified men arrived at the venue.
The attackers allegedly assaulted the workers and took away their mobile phones. The banners displayed at the venue were also allegedly set on fire.
Three workers sustained injuries during the incident and were provided medical assistance.
The incident occurred a day before the planned rally, which was subsequently cancelled.
Police registered a case and launched an investigation to identify those involved and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
